Weekend Break Down South

The second of the early bank hols was spent part in Bournemouth and part visiting friends in Swanage – returning via Bet n Jim in Shaftsbury (home of the Hovis Gold Hill). Managed to fit in an afternoon on Brownsea Island and saw that rare of breeds a red squirrel.

That Was the Week that Was

Started gently enough Easter weekend in our favourite site in our favourite camper.

Then down to London for Sis's birthday and the promised trip to Oz. Toto was the undoubted star of the show.






 

Next stop Brighton. The weather the whole way through was unseasonable for a British bank holiday :)








Kew was in full colour. Remarkable as ever and with a spectacular new treetop walkway:

 ... then guess who was getting married that same week?

Amazin Daffs

It's the second year in for these amazing Daffs!

March march - 250,000+ march for jobs

Yes, we were there ;) along with 250k others to make a point. Long time since we've been on a demo this size and this diverse. From every area of the country and every section of society. You have to go some to piss off this number of people in such a short time!

OK so a small numer  of activists got carried away in the evening, it was a distraction, but I must admit whilst marching past Fortum & Mason the thought did cross my mind ...









We got to Hyde Park with the first cohort and watched, for nearly four hours, as masses of protesters just kept pouring into the park.
